Shawn began his wine journey as a sommelier in New York City, pouring over 100 wines by the glass while performing on the city's storied, shadowy stages as an actor. He later sharpened his editorial edge at Wine Spectator, where he wrote more than 350 articles on auctions, vineyard science, and global market trends for the world’s leading wine publication.
Shawn then joined public relations agency Colangelo & Partners, where he led U.S. communications strategies for iconic global wine estates. In 2025, he founded The Zonda Wine Podcast to give industry leaders a new platform to tell their stories in an unfiltered style.
A passionate collector, Shawn also curates exclusive private events for fellow wine lovers who share his reverence for producers rooted in terroir, purity, and timelessness.
